The Sunflower's Home has been completely restored using traditional local materials, each house is unique internally and completed to a high standard using original and reclaimed floor tiles and wooden beams. The exterior brick and stonework reflects its several hundred years of history. The chimneys are replicas of typical Tuscan houses. All the work was carried out to the exacting standards of the 'Comune' of Cortona.
The house is part of a condominium complex with the added advantages that the grounds, private garden and swimming pool are maintained all year round.The condominium has a full time administrator who deals with any repairs, improvements and maintenance issues.The house benefits from WIFI.
From the garden you enter through shuttered double doors into the living room area.The downstairs consists of a large open plan lounge and dining room with a comfortable seating area around the open fireplace. The dining room leads through a brick arch to a large fully equipped kitchen with its own double doors back out onto the patio,the large patio is excellent for al fresco breakfasts, lunch and evening BBQs. There is a cloakroom with toilet,wash basin and washing machine. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, 2 double and one twin, each of which has additional mezzanine space above it and 2 bathrooms with shower/toilet/basin and bidet. Outside from the shaded patio and private hedged garden there is a path leading to the shared beautiful pool with shower and changing room toilets and tremendous views over to the hill town of Cortona.
There is ample covered parking on site.
Whilst the location is rural the Sunflower's Home is convenient for visiting every part of Tuscany. The villa situated in Southern Tuscany is perfect for visiting the beautiful Renaissance hill towns of Cortona, Arezzo, Siena, Perugia, Lucignano, Pienza, Montepulciano Orvieto all within 30 to 45 minutes drive.
Assisi is just over an hour. Day trips to Florence and Rome are possible by road or by rail from the nearby stations of Camucia or Terontola. All have fine restaurants and there are many vineyards in Cortona and Montepulciano and a little further the brunello of Montalcino.
Lake Trasimeno has marinas and water sports, walking and cycling activites - about 20 minutes away.
The Etruscan hill town of Cortona,with artworks, museums, unique shops and first class restaurants is only 10 minutes by car. For the more serious shopper the Val di Chiana Outlet Village is easily accessible by car.
